To Become a Shinobi Ch. 10
By Eliad Sholomovich
**Inside the dojo**
Yang was taking a shower after a hard and long practice.
"Grandpa will be proud of me," the twin thought. "It’s a
shame Yun's so lazy. Grandpa really has high expectations, I hope he can fulfil
them or it won't be pretty." Yang continued to think as he lathered soap
all over himself. The soap slipped through his fingers and he bent to pick it
up. He then groaned as he hit his head on the faucet. "D*mn, hate it when
that happens" Yang muttered. He then heard knocking on the door.
"Just a minute" he yelled, leaving the shower and dried himself
quickly. He tied the towel around his waist. He ran to the door as he heard
another knock. "Geez Yun since when do you-" his sentence was cut off
as he opened the door and saw Ibuki. "Oh… hi there" he smiled
nervously and turned to a shade of red. Ibuki smiled to herself as she saw him.
"Woah, the guy has a bod," Ibuki thought as she scanned Yang’s
figure quickly and felt a ping of pity. "Man how embarrassing. Well can't
keep on torturing the poor fellow" "Excuse me is Gen here?"
Ibuki asked politely.
"Oh maaan, for once a hot girl's at my doorstep and I'm a mess. OK Yang
stay cool, maybe you can salvage your lost dignity" he thought. "Not
at the moment," he responded. "But please come in." and he made
an appropriate gesture with his hand.
Ibuki nodded and entered. The dojo was a wooden room. The walls were full of
many scrolls in Chinese. Ibuki scanned the room quickly and she saw several
exits meaning the dojo was perhaps also a living quarters. Yang coughed to gain
her attention and she turned to him. "If you'll excuse me I'll just go get
dressed. Make yourself at home." he said and sped off up some stairs.
"That must have been his student. He seems agile and strong I wonder
how he fights?" Ibuki thought before a yell from outside.
"Yo Yang open the door quick!!"
"Shall I get that?" Ibuki shouted.
"Sure, go ahead" was Yang’s answer. Ibuki walked to the door and
opened it.
"What the-" was all she had tome to mutter before a youth on a
skateboard crashed into her. They fell to the ground and he lay sprawled over
her. Ibuki looked up and coughed before turning to a slight shade of red due to
her embarrassment. The youth shook his head and got up quickly rubbing his
head.
"Oops sorry ‘bout that," he apologised. "Lost control over my
skateboard."
"Men" she muttered, as she dusted herself. The teen extended his
hand.
"I'm really sorry miss. Name’s Yun" he said. Ibuki scanned him for
a minute. His features matched Yang, with the exception of a long ebony braid
that hung down the back of his head and the drooping hairstyle the other one
wielded. She took his hand.
"No harm done. My name’s Ibuki". "He's not bad either. If I
weren't on a quest then maybe... Oh control yourself girl, you’re on a mission.
Your future depends on this so concentrate." she thought and calmed
herself.
"I think I've died and reached heaven cause she looks like an angel to
me. Wonder how Yang fished such a chick?" he had to find out.
"So... You here for Yang?" he asked.Ibuki shook her head.
"No, actually I was looking for Grandmaster Gen." She replied and
Yun felt his spirit rise.
"Yesss... She ain't Yang's. That means I get a shot." Yun thought
and a slight smile spread on his face.
"Have you any idea when Gen shall return?" Ibuki asked. She really
needed to find him quickly. She had a two-month deadline to catch up with Ryu
and she didn't have time to waste. Yun rubbed his head
"Oh Grandpa will be back in a few hours. He went meditating" Yun
replied.
"Oh well, I guess I'll have to wait here" Ibuki thought. She then
heard Yang come down the stairs. He had combed his hair and was wearing his red
attire while Yun wore his blue one.
"Hey Yun, so you've met Ibuki then" Yang said and stood next to
her.
"You can say I kinda bumped into him," she said with a smile
before she chuckled lightly. Yun smiled whilst his brother sighed.
"Can I get you a drink?" both bothers said simultaneously. They
looked at each other and their eyes narrowed.
"Yes water would be great if it’s not a burden," she said
politely. Yun and Yang vanished through a corridor. Ibuki scanned the room and
found a few shelves full of pictures. She saw a picture of a beautiful Chinese
woman. It had some writing on it but she couldn't read Chinese. Then she saw
more pictures. One of the movie star Fei Long, and other various fighters and
then she spotted a small one with her target on it. Ryu was standing in his
stance in the picture and had smashed a boulder with his fist.
Ibuki gasped lightly "If he smashes stones... What'll he do to me with
that fist?" She muttered to herself. "No matter what happens I shall
do my best. I can't beat fate. What happens is written so let it come."
she thought and went back to stand near the kitchen as she heard two sets of
footsteps.
**Meanwhile in the kitchen**
Yun and Yang were brawling a bit.
"I saw her first Yun" Yang said. Yun fought against his brother
"She smiled at me" Yun replied. They were in a mercy hold. They
fought around the kitchen until they let go.
"I don't have time to fight you Yun. May the best man win," Yang
said with a grin as he extended his hand.
"You're on bro but don't say I didn't warn ya." Yun retorted as he
shook Yang’s hand. "I got a way with women."
"Yeah, a way to drive them off" he muttered under his breath.
"What was that?" Yun asked
"Nothing" Yang shrugged. He took a glass and filled it with fresh
water from a jug in the fridge. "Lets go" he said. They saw her
standing patiently waiting for them. Yang marvelled her manners. He handed her
the glass of water and she took it and thanked him. Yun motioned her to a small
table.
"You ain't just gonna stand there are you? Come on and sit down. Let
those legs rest" he said. Ibuki thanked him and managed to catch Yang
mutter something in the corner of her eye. She sat down and closed her eyes.
She breathed heavily. The jetlag wasn't so bad but she hadn't slept much since
she remained alert when she spotted the man that followed her. She sat there
and talked to the twins. She was amused, as she understood what was happening.
"How cute, they’re fighting over me," the ninja thought to
herself. "Normally I'd be flattered but I don't have time. Better let them
continue for I don't want to offend them." She continued to politely
listen to them talk about themselves, Gen and their achievements.
