** 2 months later **

Ibuki was in her room. The room was shrouded in darkness. Ibuki lay silently her eyes gazing into space.

She was deep in thought on the wierd things that accured during the past 2 months.

During the past 2 months, her mother and Jason have gotten awfully close. Although they tried to hide it from Ibuki. But Ibuki was a good judge of character and also knew how to read people's expressions and gestures.

She was immensly sad and equally disappointed that her mom didn't confide with her and told her the truth by now.

She sighed and closed her eyes. "I don't understand it...Why doesn't she trust me? I'm a big girl, I ain't some fragile doll who can't withstand the truth...I only hope she's happy, Cause the only reason for me keeping quiet about this whole situation is mom's happiness. Ibuki thought to herself and sighed.

She then jumped in surprise and shook her head as the alarm clock rang next to her, she averted her gaze to her left. "7:00am" It read.

Ibuki sighed rolled out of bed and went forth to get ready for yet another day of high school.

She streched and pushed the bangs of hair from her eyes,then she walked up to her closet, she took out her uniform and quickly changed into it.

Then she arranged her notebooks and books in her backpack and headed for the bathroom.

She then washed her face,brushed her teeth, combed her hair and put on some perfume.

Then she exited the room and headed downstairs.

She inhaled through her nose and a sweet aroma filled her nostrils. She licked her lips "Yum...Pancakes....Gotta love'em, I can't wait, its been a while since mom's made some. Ibuki thought.

She dashed down the stairs "Mornin Mom!" She said cheerfully. She saw her mom working in the kitchen and humming to herself.

Her mom smiled "Good morning my lil Girl, Sit down Breakfest will be ready soon" Her mom said warmly.

Ibuki was about to sit down when the doorbell rang. Ibuki walked up to the door and opened it.

She looked at the figure behind the door coldly. "Good morning Jason...Come in" Ibuki said calmly.

Jason nodded "Good morning to you too Ibuki, Thank you" He said in an equally dull tone.

Ibuki stepped aside and let Jason pass. Then she closed the door gently behind him.

Ibuki glared at his back and then rolled her eyes before resuming her seat next to the table.

"Great,Just great...What a way to ruin a good morning..." Ibuki thought and tapped her foot lightly under the table.

Kumiko greeted Jason "Hi Jason, Sit down and have some pancakes, Ibuki will make you some coffee while I get ready for work."

Ibuki shot her mom a "Do I have to" Look. Her mom narrowed her eyes and nodded slowly and Ibuki sighed to herself.

"Oh this is just peachy,Not only do I have to sit next to him...Now I have to wait on him...What a bloody way to start the morning" Ibuki thought.

She poured some water into the teapot and waited for the water to boil. She hummed a tune to herself while Jason simply tapped his fingers on the table.

The tension was immense and both didn't even exchange a glance due to their disliking to the other.

The vapors of hot water filled the kitchen a minute later.Ibuki poured the water into a large mug. Then she put in the coffee beans and some milk.

She picked up the mug and was careful not to touch the mug as it was extremly hot.

She put the mug on the table and then turned to get the pancakes, She took the plate and turned around, Then she raised a brow.

Jason held the mug by its handle but as he picked a portion of the liquid spilled on his hand. But to Ibuki's sheer amazement he didn't scream or even flinch, it was as if he didn't sense it at all.

"My God...Who is this guy? That should've hurt or atleast make him grimace...This is quite queer, Yet again Jason proves he's odd and suspicious..." Ibuki thought.

Then she looked at her watch. "D**n I'm gonna be late if I don't hurry...I can't be bothered by this now..." Ibuki thought.

She cursed under her breath, She grabbed a napkin and took a pancake, Then she took her bag and dashed out of the door.

She closed it behind her "Gotta go Mom, I'm late, see ya" She shouted and then started running, taking a bite out of her pancake occasionally.

Ibuki reached the school 15 minutes later just as the bell rang. She pushed through the corridors, Her face was flushed and she breathed heavily as she had just sprinted a 3 mile distance.

She sat by Sarai and collapsed into her seat tiredly. She wiped the beads of sweat off her forehead and panted heavily.

"Ohayo Ibuki chan" Sarai said sweetly.

"O...Ohayo..to...Y...You..too...Sa...Sar...Sarai" Ibuki said in between pants.

Then the teacher entered the classroom. He was a chubby middle aged man, He put his briefcase on the table and turned to the class and crossed his arms.

"Good morning Class, Please remove your books from your desks and take out your number 2 pencils." The man said calmly.

The class obeyed the teacher's demand. Ibuki sighed "Oh this is grand...A pop math quiz first thing in the morning, Why don't you just hit me with lightning and end my misery now?" Ibuki thought and took out her calculator and pencils.

The class was silent, and the only sound heard in the room was the writing and an extremly annoying wall clock which ticked audibly much to the students dismay.

Ibuki scanned the classroom through the corner of her eye.

She saw Karin with a frantic and scared look in her eyes as she looked at the quiz. She clattered her teeth and then gulped. Her Jaw clenched in tension and her wrist tighted around the pencil until her knuckles went slightly white.

Ibuki smirked and shifted her gaze to Sakura who was biting the end of her pencil and seemingly concentrated. The look in her eyes and calmness in her muscles showed she knew the material.

Ibuki then finished the quiz quickly, She had studied hard all the time and this material wasn't too challenging for her.

In addition she had studied with both Sakura and Sarai for last month's test so she was in reality ready for this quiz and she learned then that her friends were too.

She handed the paper to the teacher and he smiled and nodded, then she left the classroom.

She walked out the door with her backpack and leaned on the wall and waited for Sarai, Sakura and Karin to finish.

Five minutes Later Sakura exited followed by Sarai, Both had a smile plastered on their faces.Ibuki high fived them both and shot them a victorious grin and thumbs up.

The trio then waited for Karin to finish as she had requested Sarai to do so.

The bell rang for recess and all the students poured our slowly. But Karin didn't. Ibuki in her curiousity opened the door slightly and peered inside.

The teacher was rolling his eyes impatiently "Miss Kanzuki, Hand your form now, or I'll give you an F for wasting my time." He said angrily.

Karin gave him the form her face a mask of anquish and sorrow. He put the form in this briefcase and approached the door.

Ibuki stepped back and the teacher passed by them. Ibuki then saw Karin exit the room. Her head was facing the floor and she sighed. "I take the quiz didn't go well" Ibuki said quietly.

"Ding,Ding,Ding give the kid a cigar, she actually noticed something completely obvious. Wow! Ibuki I didn't know you had it in you! I always thought you were just a stupid b*tch with the IQ of a peanut. Now you've proven you've advanced to that of a cabbage, congrats." Karin snapped anrgily.

Ibuki shook her head in disgust and rolled her eyes and decided to ignore the snobbish girl's remark.

Sarai was about to comment on Karin's rudeness but Sakura beat her.

"Leave her alone Kanzuki, She meant you no harm!" Sakura said anrgily.

Karin sneered "Shut up you lil tomboy B*tch cut the innocent act, You're just a stuck up fool like Ibuki here" Karin said angrily and pointed at Ibuki.

"What a snobbish lil brat, I can't believe her, I'm fed up with her attitude..." Ibuki thought and hmphed.

Ibuki then chuckled "That's fresh, Karin Kanzuki the queen of rich brats calling me a stuck up, Heh Karin you're in the wrong profession, you should go in to comedy," Ibuki said.

"Yeah!I hear they don't need an education there, and I'm sure Daddy can arrange you a job, Since you seem to lack the skill for anything which requires using the grey cells you allegedly have" Sakura added.

Karin snarled and flushed red with rage "You know this means war..." Karin said to the two in a low and mencing tone.

Ibuki made an off hand motion, "Get a life Karin, I don't fear your empty threats" Ibuki said and left. Sakura and Sarai in her tracks.

An aggrivated Karin Kansuki was left alone. She looked at the trio which left.

"You'll regret this, Nobody crosses Karin Kanzuki and leaves unharmed." Karin thought and turned to the other direction and left as well.
