Into the Woods Streetfighter Style Act 1 (Part 1)

(Downstage there are three structures: Cinderellas' place, Jacks' place and The Bakers' place. There are lotsa trees surrounding them since they are in the woods. Sodom steps forward. Does he ever take his armor off?)

Sodom: Once upon a time

Cammy: I WISH...

Sodom: In a far off kingdom

Cammy: MORE THAN ANYTHING...

Sodom: lived a young maiden

Cammy: MORE THAN LIFE

Sodom: A sad young lad

(Lights go on Ken trying to milk a bull. It's supposed to be a cow! M.Bison grins maniacally backstage and shrugs.)

Ken: I WISH

Sodom: A childless baker

(light goes on Ryu and Chun Li)

Cammy,Ryu: I WISH

Sodom: and his wife

Chun Li: I WISH

Ken: MORE THAN LIFE

Cammy: THE KING IS GIVING A FESTIVAL

(Their song continues. Cammy wishes to go to the festival. Ken wishes for the cow to give milk. Why did M.Bison get a bull instead? Ryu and Chun Li wish for a child. There is singing involved, of course. Karin, Vega and Fei Long enter.

Karin: YOU WISH TO GO TO THE FESTIVAL?

Sodom: The poor girls' mother had died.

(Karin, Vega and Fei Long continue to taunt Cammy.)

Sodom: And her father had taken a new wife

Karin: The Festival?

Sodom: With two daughters of her own

Vega: LOOK AT YOUR NAILS

Fei LONG: LOOK AT YOUR DRESS!

Karin: PEOPLE WOULD LAUGH AT YOU

Cammy: NEVERTHELESS...I STILL WISH TO GO TO THE FESTIVAL/ Vega, Karin and Fei Long: YOU STILL WISH TO GO TO THE FESTIVAL...ANd DANCE BEFORE THE PRINCE?!

( They giggle. Music stops.)

Sodom: All three were beautiful of face, but vile and black of heart.

(See why I chose Vega? Music resumes.)

Sodom: Jack on the other hand, had no father, and his mother...

Akuma: Hm.

Sodom: Well she was not quite beautiful...

(See why I chose Akuma?)

Akuma: Hm!

(He's supposed to be singing!)

Akuma: Insolent Brat! What are you doing with that cow in the house?

Ken: A warm environment might be just what Milky-white needs to produce his milk...

( At least Ken remembered his lines.)

Akuma: It's a she. Bulls don't give milk.

(Ther are two knocks on Ryus' door. Sakura enters.)

Chun Li: Why, come in little girl.

Sakura: I WISH...

IT'S NOT FOR ME IT'S FOR MY GRANNY IN THE WOODS

TO BRING MY POOR OLD HUNGRY GRANNY IN THE WOODS...

(Ryu hands her the food. Other stuff continues. Something with Cammy emptying a pot of lentils into ashes and telling her to pick them out. There is more singing and Cammy gets birds to pick them out. Well, just pretend the birds are there. That's what the audience is doing. Eli-kun goes further backstage to yell at M.Bison...no wait, that isn't a good idea. He has that psycho power thingie. Sakura takes sweets and starts compulsively eating. Akuma tells Ken to sell the cow. He still refuses to sing. Sakura skips off witha basket of sweets. Ryu already starts to forget some of his lines. Hopefully the audience doesn't notice. Vega and Fei Long enter.)

Vega:HURRY UP AND DO MY HAIR, CINDERELLA

(to Fei Long)

ARE YOU REALLY WEARING THAT?

Fei Long: HERE I FOUND A LITTLE TEAR, CINDERELLA

(to Vega eyeing hair)

CAN'T YOU HIDE IT WITH A HAT?

Cammy: YOU LOOK BEAUTIFUL

Vega: I KNOW

Fei Long: SHE MEANS ME!

(Song continues. Cammy fusses with Vegas' hair, apparently twisting it too hard. Vega screams a girly scream and slaps her.)

Cammy: Sorry

Vega: Clod!

(Fei Long giggles.)

Sodom: Since the baker thought his parents died in a baking accident, he was eager to have a family of his own.

( There is a knock on the door. Rose enters the bakers' place. Ryu and Chun Li act afraid of her. Well, Chun Li acts afraid. Ryu just stands there with a blank expression.

Chun Li: It's the witch from next door!

Ryu: Well, duh

(Ryu isn't saying his lines. At least Chun Li is covering for him.)

Chun Li: What do you wish?

Rose: It's not what I wish. It's what you wish.

(She points at Chun Li's belly.)

Nothing cooking in there now is there?

Sodom: The witch went on to explain thata spell was cast on the Bakers' house. It prevented him from having a kid. This was because his father stole magic beans from her garden. Ther were also other plants she let them have in exchange for the bakers' sister, Rapunzel.(Will someone shut him up? How does he manage to screw up his lines? He has the friggen script in front of him!!)

Rose: Will you let us get on with this? You revealed too much.

Sodom: Sorry. Get on with your attempt to rap.

Rose: Fine. (Trying to rap.)

...BEANS. THE SPECIAL BEANS.

I LET HIM GO. I DIDN'T KNOW,

HE'D STOLEN MY BEANS!

I WAS WATCHING HIM CRAWL BACK OVER THE WALL

AND THEN BANG! CRASH! THE LIGHTNING FLASH-WELL THAT'S ANOTHER STORY, NEVER MIND,ANYWAY...

(Her attempt at rapping continues. The audience seems to be enjoying it. At one point she points at Ryus' groin to emphasize her spell. Ryu is supposed to double over in pain but he doesn't react at all since nothing actually happens. well, Rose does a good job at laughing maniacally. Lights go on Ken and Akuma.)

Akuma: Sell the @%*$# cow!

Ken: Okay! It should be no more than 5 pounds, right?

(Akuma throws a fireball)

Akuma: Less than five.

(He finally said one of his lines correctly! He still refuses to sing. Don't know why. He sang at the audition.)

Ken: Okay! No less than five pounds.

Sodom: The witch, for purposes of her own, told them how to lift the spell. They are supposed to collect a yellow cow, a golden cape, a slipper as red as blood and a hair as white as milk.

Rose: No, you're doing it all wrong!

It's One, A cow as white as milk

Two, A cape as red as blood!

Sodom: I think they know how to count.

Rose: Will you let me finish?!!!!!

A hair as yellow as corn

A slipper as pure as gold, to get this stuff

you must go into the woods.

(She throws another spell at Ryu's groin and exits. Cinderella is featured again. Birdie downs about 3 mugs of ale in that short scene. Karin seems bored. Them and the stepsisters leave without Cammy. She decides to visit the grave of her mother because that's how the story goes. Ryu and Chun Li argue. She insists on following him to the woods. He remembers some of his lines. Of course they're the lines that Chun Li says and he repeats. Now for some more singing. This includes everyone in scene 1. Sakura is skipping again. People are wandering throughout the trees. T.Hawk did a good job at designing and building them. They get to the end of the song. I don,t want to write the entire thing.

They freeze and most exit. End of scene one.
