Summer Vacation Ch.2
By Jayk
"It is now time for the final bout of this competition.", Ryu stated.
He stood in the middle of the ring. It stood one feet off the ground, and it
was surrounded by several spectators as well as the participating warriors and
trainers alike. The ring was inside and light came through the windows of the building
causing a type of spotlight onto the ring. Candles were also anging and lit
just in case the clouds came across the sun. Ryu surveyed the croud. He saw
many of the friends he's met through the Street Fighter Tournements and more.
Among the faces were Chun Li, Dan, Fei Long, Guy, Sean, and of course Ken.
"The final round will be between Hiro and Mel.", Ryu continued. Mel
and his opponent entered the ring on opposing sides. All watched in
anticipation. Hiro is an aspiring ninjitsu master and is wearing a violet
outfit similar to Guy's. Mel is wearing a blue gi and red hand guards.
"Heh, you made it to the finals, did you? Obviously by luck.",
sneared Hiro. Mel only smiled in response.
"Good smile now, cause when this is over there will be nothing for you
to smile about."
"We'll see.", said Mel.
"Alright you two.", stepped in Ryu. "Let's not forget the
rules which are: All hits count, five minute time limit, you lose if you fall
out of the ring, give up, get knocked out, or have taken more hits by the end of
time over. Do you guys understand?"
"Hai!", they both said. Doing so they took there fighting stance.
Ryu stepped away and then off the platform. "Begin!"
The two fighters stood still sizing each other up. A small grin crept up Mel's
face. Hiro, on the other hand, stayed solemn. Hiro was the first to attack. He
sent a forward to Mel's and two jabs to his face. Mel easily blocked each
attack and countered with a roundhouse aimed at Hiro chest. Hiro was unable to
block the kick and reeled back in pain. He regouped an elbow that hit Mel's
chin directly. They traded hits in this manner blocking each others attacks
most of the time. Hiro attacked with a tornado kick, which Mel blocked and
sweeped to counter. As Hiro got to his feet Mel unleashed three quick sempu
kicks. The third knocked Hiro away and to the ground. "Go Mel!",
screamed an excited Eliza. Mel responded with a thumbs up to her. "Watch
your opponent!", screamed Ken. The warning came to late, however. As Mel
turned around, he was hit with a dashing cresent. Hiro continued by flipping
over Mel, grabbing him and sending him to the ground.
Mel was a little dizzy and rolled away to make some distance. 'Man he's
fast.', Mel thought. Hiro had started to launch another attack. Mel was ready
this time and blocked most of his punches while delivering his share of kicks.
'Alright, lets finish this.' With that thought, Mel ducked down and dished out
two quick low kicks; he followed up with an uppercut. "Here we go!",
Mel shouted as he performed the first of three roundhouse kicks. The first hit
at Hiro abdomin, the second caught his chin, and the last landed hard on his
chest. Hiro flew back but recovered in mid-air and flipped and landed safely,
just as Mel planned. 'Come on, do it.', was all Mel could think. Hiro was about
15 feet away and began to run at Mel. Mel lowered himself a little to be ready
if he decided to slide. Hiro saw Mel's move and reacted by doing his cresent
kick. Mel's eye's shot open in anticipation and blocked the kick open palm out.
He then took hold of Hiro's leg and yanked him towards him. "Shou
ken!" The words rang out loud as Mel's rising uppercut hit Hiro's chin
hard. *THUD* Hiro hit hard and most of the arena cheered.
"Yattate!!!", Mel screamed raising his fist to the air.
A small noise came from Hiro's fallen body. As it got louder everyone
quieted down and listened as it became more apparent he was laughing.
"Hehehhe...heheheh....HAHAHA!" Hiro laugh uncontrollable as he got
upand wiped the small bit of blood that leaked out of his mouth. "Very
good! That was very good. I applaud you, but now I'm not playin around. You'll
see my ultimate attack. Try not to get to scared.", Hiro taunted.
"Whatever.", Mel said in response.
"Hiuck!!!", Hiro grunted as he tensed his whole body.
"No way. What's he doing...is he growing?" Sure enough it seemed
as Hiro was getting larger by the minute. His head reached the top of the
ceiling.
"Hahaha...now your finished.", roared the giant Hiro. He reached
down and seized Mel in one hand. "I'm gonna take a Super Chunk out of
you.", Hiro taunted as he brought Mel to his open mouth.
"Help!!! Mom...Dad...please, help", Mel was screaming at the top
of his lungs as he struggled in Hiro's grip. He looked to his mom who just
stood there. "Mom!"
"Super Chunk.", was her response.
"Wha...?!", Mel then looked to his dad. "Dad!"
"Super Chunk.", said Ken.
"Huh...?!", then he looked to Ryu who was standing next to his
dad. "Uncle Ryu, please help!"
"Scooby Doo.", was his response. "What?!", he looked at
him in suprise. "and Scrappy too!", Ryu continued.
"I don't beleive this! NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!"
*****
"NOOOOO! Noo...no.", screamed as he found himself on the leather
couch. He looked around frantically. The television was going and had a promo
going. T.V.: "Three hours of Scooby Doo in this Saturdays Super Chunk
followed by a Scrappy marathon". "Crazy.", Mel said shaking his
head.
"Hey what's all the noise for.", a voice called out from the
doorway. Mel turned around in shock. He calmed himself when he saw it was his
dad. "Oh, hey dad." Ken stood at the doorway in his red gi and a
white towel draped over his shoulders. "I guess I fell asleep and had a
nightmare of sorts.", Mel explained.
"Oh yeah, do you want to talk about it?", Ken inquired concerned.
"Nah, no need dad, but maybe later."
"Sure. Why are you up so early? I was sure you'd be sleeping in
today.", questioned Ken.
"I would have, but I accidently sent my alarm.", Mel said slightly
embarassed.
"Heh. Oh well, I got to go get ready for work."
"Ok, see ya."
"Oh, before I forget, What's that on the table?" Ken was refering
to Mel's now empty cereal bowl.
"Huh?", Mel said oblivious. He looked at the table and knew what
he was talking about. 'Oops, I forgot, mom doesn't want anyone to eat in this
room.' Mel grimmiced knowing he was in trouble. "Ahh. What...uh what are
you talking about?" he asked uneasily.
Ken walked into the room. "The bowl Mel, is that yours?", he
inquired further. Mel didn't answer. Ken knew it was but he wanted to let Mel
admit to it, first. "Mel, were you eating in this room?"
"Uh..." Mel looked up at his dad. He face was stern with a twinge
of disapointment. "Uh...how was your work-out dad?", Mel asked trying
futilely to change the subject.
"It was fine. Don't change the subject. You know your mom doesn't wan't
you to eat in any other room other than the dinning rooms. Its so we don't get
insects living here."
"Yeah Dad, but..."
"Don't 'Dad, but' me." Mel looked at his dad with pleading eyes "Yeah...well...kuh
Dad!", was all that came out. Ken looked at him trying his hardest not to
smile. 'He remindes me of myself.' Ken crcked a smile, unable to hold out any
longer. "Ok, you get off this time, but next time you get punished."
"Thanks, Dad.", Mel said with a huge smile on his face. "Go
take your bowl into the kitchen and rinse it out before your mom gets up."
"OHHH MMMMYYYY!", a shrieking scream came form the direction of
the kitchen. 'The cook', thought Mel. He turned to the clock to see what time
it was. "Oh, no 9:12. I forgot." Ken looked at Mel with an eyebrow
raised. Just then the cook came into the room. He was a round man with thinning
charcoal hair and a curly mustache dressed in white. He had a box of Waffle
Crisps in one hand and a box of Raisin Bran in the other.
"My kitchen its a mess.", he ranted. "There is Waffle Crisp
cereal on the floor and this box of Raisin Bran was on the counter.", he
said in a very agitated tone.
Ken looked to Mel who only smiled sheepishly. "You know I agreed to
cook you food to any quantity and at any time of day, just as long as no one
comes into my kitchen.", the angry cook continued.
"I was gonna clean it up, but I fell asleep is all.", young Mel
retorted. "Well I guess you'd better do it now, then.", said Ken.
"Francís, calm down. The Mrs. is still asleep."
"I apologize, but this is exactly..." "I know...I
know,", Ken interupted in a consoling tone. He walked towards Francís and
put his arm aroun him to talk in a more personal manner. "You must understand
the situation. Mel woke up early due to the fact he set his alarm on accident.
Seeing as how I gave you the extra time off because he would be out of school
you weren't here. Now, do you think it to be better for my son to starve?"
"Well, no sir, but..."
"Of course not. Now he already said he would clean it up so why don't
we just it at that? I'd hate for you to feel unappreciated. Your the best cook
we've ever had you know."
"Well thank you sir, I guess it is a little petty, but I would really
prefer to be the only one to be in the kitchen."
"Of coarse! It'll never happen again. Now onto better subjects, I'm
very hungry. What do you think you could fix for me for breakfast." With
that the two headed out of the room leaving an awe struck Mel. "Man, Dad
sure is smoothe."
"Get to work!", Ken said as he popped his head back into the room.
"Right!", Mel replied in surprise. 'Better get going.', he thought as
he turned off the T.V. and grabbed his bowl to leave the room.
