The Wedding of Ryu and Chun Li (Part 1)
By Kaze

Wong-Mei's Restaurant on the island of Shad was reknowned for its delicious food, and for the health nuts out there, the high nutrition his food held. The manager and head cook, Wong-Mei himself, was a good friend to Ryu, who had saved him and his elder sister, Po-Lin, from a street gang which threatened to tear down their restaurant because the two could not afford to pay for their 'protection.'

Fireballs popping out of a person's hands does wonders to convince even the most stubborn street gang that business wasn't very good.

It is no surprise then that at this same restaurant, which Ryu frequents at whenever he could in his long journeys, that the wedding of the wandering warrior would take place. "Is everything ready?" Ken asked the young cook as he strolled in in a red-trimmed black tux.

"The food's out, the decorations are up, we just have to wait for the cake and cold champagne to get here." Wong-Mei replied proudly in his regular cooking clothes including apron as he motioned at all the food he and his staff of cooks had cooked. Many, Ken noticed, were Ryu's favorites. "How is everything else?"

"Everything else is going fine, except the groom seems to have a little of the pre-wedding jitters." Ken grimaced, then glanced to the young boy. "Better get dressed, kid. You don't want to appear in front of everyone covered in food, do you?"

Wong-Mei made a face. "I hate dressing up." he complained.

"It's Ryu's wedding, do it for the big guy, huh?" Ken smiled as he crouched down to lightly punch Wong-Mei on the shoulder.

"I know for a fact that Ryu doesn't really care very much for dressing up in a suit either." Wong-Mei glowered as he folded his arms across his chest.

"Do it or else I'm going to tell your sister." Ken smirked. Wong-Mei glowered at him for a few more seconds before his diminuative form stomped off to change. Ken wrinkled his nose when he realized how Wong-Mei smelled when he had been talking to him before. "And make sure you take a bath!" Ken called after him as he wrinkled his nose again. The smell of raw fish and chicken wasn't made into a perfume for good reason. Wong-Mei merely slammed the door to the rooms above the restaurant.

"Serves the kid right for planting that raw fish in my clothes last year." Ken snickered.

"That's because you made fun of his height." Po-Lin chided him out of nowhere, causing Ken hop in startlement. "You know how Wong-Mei feels about being called short."

"I said I was sorry." Ken muttered, then quickly changed the subject, he knew how defensive Po-Lin got from anything concerning her younger brother. "How is the bride doing?"

"Much better than the groom had been doing." Po-Lin smiled wryly, she had heard from the other women fighters what had happened with the groom. "Did he really propose to her?" she asked, an amused sort of wonder in her voice.

"Yes, but she's the one who got the wedding ceremony going." Ken covered his mouth to stifle his laughter. "Chun Li pulled in a few strings from friends at Interpol, and several of the rest of us fighters to track him down."

Po-Lin could only cover her mouth politely as she giggled. "He was in quite a panic I hear."

"He sure was." Ken laughed uproariously now, the incident had been too funny not to. "You see, this is what happened . . ."

Begin Flashback . . .

Ken pulled up his nightvision binoculars as he scanned the harbor, they had found out that a man wearing only a white karate gi with a red bandanna tied around his head and duffel bag over his shoulder had bought a boat which was docked here. Ken knew Ryu knew that Chun Li could be on him in an instant if he ever used his passport to fly on an airplane, a boat was the key.

Ken looked around carefully as he wrinkled his nose at the smell of the fish being hauled up the harbor dock, the fisherman were coming in with their first catch before they went out again. Ken looked around himself through his binoculars as he absently spotted the various Interpol and military agents Chun Li had pulled in favors for. Ken grimaced, and he thought what Eliza did was bad! At least hunting him down by herself was better than having a small army after you.

Ken yawned silently as he looked out at the sea through his binoculars again, maybe he could just sneak on back to his limo, Chun Li had enough people looking for Ryu anyway. Ken took another quick peek as the boats setted sail out to the sea again when something caught his eye, or rather someone. The man stood solid on the boat as he steered with the wheel, he showed the promize of a good sailor, but he was definitely unfamiliar with this water, unlike the seasoned fishermen of this harbor.

"Gotcha." Ken grinned as he signaled to one of the agents dressed up as a dock worker.

The dock worker looked at him blankly. *Why is that surfer boy waving at me?* the dock worker wondered as he glanced from the surfer boy, who obviously seemed to have something important to say to him, and the incoming pile of large smelly fish. His indecision of his situation proved to be his one great downfall as he stood there while the huge pile of smelly fish dropped down on him, engulfing him completely.

Ken slapped his forehead in embarrassment, that was definitely not an agent. He sighed as he pulled out his Omnipoint and called up the agent who was working with him.

What had happened next Ken still found hard to believe. Choppers suddenly appeared out of nowhere, agents poured out onto the dockyard, revealing themselves. The fishermen looked around at all this in confusion, and understandably with outrage. These guys were scaring all the fish away!

Ken was at the dock with his binoculars again as he kept sight of Ryu and his boat. He smirked in amusement when he saw his friend's panicked look up close, he gave himself a mental pat on the back for buying such great lenses. The lenses had been expensive, but seeing his friend and rival's face like that was one in a million, his only regret was that he didn't have a camera on hand with such powerful lens.

Ken stared as Ryu pulled at the motor string, ignitioning the boat. His best friend then proceeded to zig zag as skillfully as any professional speedboat racer around the clumpy fishing boats. He stared again as he watched Ryu evade the agents' speedboats with ease. As he watched Ryu soar high over a wet ramp over several other boats, he reminded himself to ask Ryu for some lessons later. Ken snorted in disbelief as Ryu smashed up against the speedboats, and he called HIM reckless.

Shouts and screams were everywhere as Ryu, in the lone motorboat, desperately sought to evade them. The agents outnumbered him however, and he was surrounded. Ryu was carefully brought up to the dock with agents standing closely behind him. Questioning murmurs traveled between the fishermen as they wondered who the felonist was.

"What's happening here?" a familiar voice to Ken's years yawned. "I was trying to get some sleep."

"Ryu?!" Ken stared at his best friend who stood blearily among the fishermen, dressed in regular non-descipt clothing for once. The agents looked to Ken, looked to Ryu, and then to the man being pushed to the dock.

"Hey! Can you believe this? This guy here is trying to smuggle nuclear plans out of the country!" an agent in the boat called. The group face-faulted.

"Hey . . . Ken, what are you doing here? Chou-Zu? Aren't you a friend of Chun Li? Guile? Oh no . . ." Ryu suddenly panicked as his eyes widened and his pupils enlarged, adrenaline began rushing into his system as he peered at the agents around him.

He ran.

"Keep that man in custody!" one of the commanding officers ordered a trio of his men who nodded, before he sent another group after Ryu.

Ken was already giving chase, hot on the heels of his long-time training partner as they zig-zagged around the crates. Ryu occasionally pushed some crates around behind him to delay Ken, but he merely leaped high over them. Ken could tell some other fellow street fighters were at his side giving chase to the street fighting champion.

They all had a grudge against him one way or another. Ken stopped, and smiled, Ryu had trapped himself against a wall.

"Come on, Ryu." Guy smiled one of his rare smiles in amusement as he crossed his arms before his chest. "You know what we're here for, its time to get back to your fiancee, she's quite peeved at you for disappearing like this. If she didn't know you so well, she wouldn't have bothered to send all of us."

"Come on, buddy." Ken grinned. "Time to join the rest of us in the real world, you might even like it."

"Ryu, I must say you are a lucky man to have a woman such as Chun Li to believe in you so much as to have all of us come and bring you back to her." Tears were starting to gather at E. Honda's eyes as he clasped his hands together. "Ah, such sweet dedicated love, it brings such joy to my eyes. The thought of you two being wed with a huge wedding banquet filled with Wong-Mei's delicious cooking . . ." Honda's eyes actually seemed to sparkle as he looked up high into the early morning sky in wonder.

"Ryu, like I've always told you." Guile said solemnly as he clasped his dog-tags in his fist. "Go home and be a family man!"

"Yes, Ryu." Dhalsim nodded. "Guile is right, having a family is what we are borned for, trust the words of a holy man such as myself as come peacefully with us back to your beloved."

"Ryu, how could you abandon a woman as bodaciously beautiful as Chun Li?!" Dan shouted in righteous rage as he posed with his righteous fist before himself with righteous tears pouring from his eyes. "What I would not give to be with a woman such as Chun Li! Oh, if it were not for my quest for vengeance against Sagat for killing my father . . . OYAJI!!" Dan curled up into a ball on the floor as he cried into his knees.

They all sweatdropped and said nothing as they stared at Dan's fetal form on the floor, sobbing uncontrollably.

"Dan . . ." Guy said gently as he crouched at Dan's side. "Dan, listen to me . . . think back to the Alpha tournaments now, think back real good. You fought Sagat back there, remember? You actually beated him, you got your vengeance." Guy continued to talk soothingly to Dan as if Dan were a vet in need of psychological counseling. "The war's over buddy . . . there's no more need to try and kill that big nasty Sagat. You humiliated him enough already, beating him with your great patented Chouhatsu Densetsu, second only to your famed Chouhatsu Shinwa."

Dan's sobbing had slowly begun to decease as Guy continued to praise his excellent style and form of taunting.

"No one taunts better than you, Dan!" Ken cheered.

"Yea! No one else does it better than you with your Saikyou-Ryu!" Honda putted in helpfully when he finally managed to break out of his daydream of Wong-Mei's delicious cooking, and speaking of Wong-Mei's cooking . . .

"You're the best, Dan!"

"Yea, go Dan!"

"OSHA! No one does it better than you, Dan!"

"And not many can get away with wearing pink like you, Dan!" Everyone around started cheering Dan on, until he finally stood up tall and beaming.

"OSHA!" Dan screamed as he held his shaking fist before himself in victory. "My Saikyou-Ryu is the best!"

Everyone cheered.

"Okay, now let's get Ryu!" Ken said when they had pumped Dan's ego up enough without embarrassing themselves any further or make Dan think that he's so great that he could stop a speeding truck with his pinky.

The said Shotokan master however, was currently scaling the wall somehow.

"Oh no you don't!" Ken shouted as he brought his hand to his side quickly gathering his ki and pushing it forward from the palms of his hands. "HADOUKEN!"

"Get back here, private!" Guile shouted as he brought his arms back and crossed them forward in front of him so fast that a wave of sound came forth. "SONIC BOOM!"

"GADOUKEN!" Dan shouted as he pulled his hand back and brought it forward quickly before a decent amount could be gathered, so his Gadouken merely traveled forward a foot or two before it puffed out of existance.

Ken's Surge Fist blasted a spot next to Ryu's side, and Guile's Sonic Boom blasted the spot right above his head.

"I did not want to do this my friend, but . . . YOGA FIRE!" Dhalsim gathered oxygen into his mouth as he summoned the fire of the his inner being to come forth from his mouth scorching the seat of Ryu's pants.

"AAAAAHHHH!!" Ryu cried out in pain as he dropped to the floor and quickly rolled the flame off of his ass before it turned nice and crispy to soon engulf his whole body as well. Dhalsim wasn't the barbecue king of his village for nothing.
