Bad Dreams Ch. 17

"Who is he Chun?" asked the blond woman with pigtails.

"You remember when you were in custody at Interpol headquarters and you woke up knowing everything that Bison had made you do?"

"Of course I do." she replied as she looked away. She still couldn't believe all the murders she had commited in the name of Shodowloo.

"Well there's the guy that killed him." Chun Li said as she pointed through the observation window.

"But you said the guy who killed Bison was friends with Guile and Masters." Cammy said as she frowned.

"True."

"But you said this guy fought with all three of you." she pointed out as she gestured to Guile who suffered from second degree burns where he had been hit by the Shakunetsu Hadouken.

"You and Masters also took a lot of damage."

"Yes we did." Chun Li said as she gently placed a hand on her abdomen.

"So what happened?" Cammy asked as she turned back to the man in the observation room.

"We're not sure, but it seems he was exposed to vast amounts of Psycho Powers when Bison was killed and it has caused him to go insane." Chun Li said evenly.

"Masters said that Interpol was contemplating putting him to death." Cammy said as she placed a hand on the glass.

"We are. This guy is possibly more powerful than Bison. If he cuts loose in populated areas he could kill alot of people."

"But it's not his fault." Cammy said in defense.

"What happened to him is like what happened to me, in a way. You guys weren't going to kill me were you." Cammy asked as she narrowed her eyes.

Chun Li sighed. She liked Cammy, she was a nice girl, but she didn't seem to understand what was at stake.

"Cammy, you didn't have the ability to act as a one man force of lumberjacks. He cleared several acres of trees with fireballs. If and when he wakes up he could blow this place apart. At least you were calm when we took you in, he was a raving madman, calling us all Bison and such." Chun Li explained.

"Oh no..." Cammy said suddenly.

"What?"

"Look." she said as she pointed through the glass.

******************************

Ken approached the floor where Ryu was strapped down by steel restraints. He didn't particularly like the idea of his best friend bound like some sort of criminal.

"D*mnnit Ryu, you should have come with me and Eliza."

Nothing answered him except for the occasional twitch of Ryu's eyebrow.

Ken was worried. Ryu's pulse was very weak and he took a breath maybe twice in a minute. The moniters he was hooked up to beeped so often that they had been unplugged.

Ken knew he had seen something like this before, but he couldn't remember. What with Bison screwing with his head he couldn't remember certain things about Ryu and his years spent in Japan. The object of his brain washing had after all been to distort his feelings about Ryu.

His whole body was tensed and beads of sweat occasionally strayed down Ryus face, but he was alive and Ken was happy for that. The thing that bothered him was they didn't really know what had happened to them and in particular to Ryu. Ken supposed it could have been a result of his insanity, but he didn't think so.

Faded memories seemed to totter on the tip of his mind and he tried desperately to grasp them. He knew he had seen Ryu's condition somewhere else.

HE KNEW!!

"Ken, I'm sorry, but you have to leave this area." Chun Li said as she limped through the door.

"RUN, RUN, RUN!!!!" Ken shouted as he sprinted away from Ryu.

It was then that a spark of light ignited his fists and his eyes snapped open revealing the whites.
