For the Fight Ch.36
By RC

Ryu walked along beside Chun Li. He was at the moment wondering how many pounds worth of clothes she had bought. Ryu wasn't exactly sure, but he did know one thing. It was a lot. He fell back behind her and let himself take a rest. He took a few deep breaths. He had been walking all day with all this excess poundage and he was getting a little tired. Chun Li whipped around then and yelled for him to hurry. He sighed and pulled his staggering load back off the ground.

They found her car in a multi-level parking garage and she opened her trunk for her things. Ryu looked at the bags and then at the trunk. He looked over at the Interpol agent and shook his head. "I don't think they're going to fit." he said. She nodded and said, "I guess you'll just have to put the rest on your lap." Ryu sighed again and started loading Chun Li's precious cargo.

"BLAM!!!!"

Ryu turned and saw a woman in a purple body suit with a gun leveled at him. There was a bulet hole in Chun Li's car right next to him. Chun Li reached into her vest and whipped out a gun concealed there. She fired at the woman and cursed. It was one of Bison's female operatives named Juni. Chun Li sqeezed the trigger of her glock a few more times to try to make Juni head for cover. Chun Li was very scared. She knew that her shooting skills weren't all that good and she also knew that Juni was an expert with firearms. Juni squeezed off a few rounds and Chun Li gasped. She had intercepted Chun Li's bullets with her own.

Chun Li fired twice more and yelled at Ryu to get in the car. Ryu wasn't moving though. Chun Li saw him prepare for a Hadouken and she cursed. She wasn't sure if a fireball would stop bullets. Ryu thrust his hands foward and the huge inferno that was his chi streaked towards Juni. Juni's eyes widened and she tried to dodge, but she was enveloped by the chi blast and thrown into a concrete wall where she slumped to the floor.

Ryu heard a gun go off and looked to his right to see another woman. She was dressed like the other one, but her hair was long and brown. Ryu looked over at Chun Li and froze. Her shoulders were hunched foward and her gun dropped from her hand. It clattered to the floor. She fell foward and Ryu caught her. He could see blood on her shirt spreading like a blooming flower. Ryu's eyes flashed an angry red that would have made Gouki proud and with a backhanded wave of his arm he launched a huge red orb of flame that seemed to come straight from hell.

Juli's eyes widened and she started to scream, but she was engulfed before she had a chance. A few moments passed and Ryu scanned the area with his flaming gaze. Juni was trying to stand. Juli was on fire and knocked out. Ryu picked up Chun Li and put her in the passenger side. He then jumped over the car and got into the driver's seat. He turned the key and the car hummed to life. Ryu peeled out of the parking garage and onto the street. Ryu was worried. Chun Li's shirt was now covered with blood. He felt her neck and he found her pulse. It was slow, but steady. He turned his attention back to the road. He hadn't driven a car before in his life. But he had watched Ken drive for years and had a pretty good idea how to though.

Ryu had managed to avoid attention and get Chun Li into their room. He laid her out on the bed and reached for the phone. A small gentle hand in a red armored glove touched him and he whirled. It was the same girl from the store. Cammy cast a sad look at Chun Li's still form and said, "They are on their way here now. You shouldn't use the phone. It's been bugged. Don't take her to a hospital. You need to get her out of the city and find a place to hide. I will help you when I can." Then she touched his arm in a reassuring gesture and headed for the door. Ryu knew better than to question her. He had more important things to do. He quickly grabbed Chun Li's bags and threw her clothes into it. He then grabbed his canvas bag and put the rope that tied it around his shoulder. He hefted her bags in one hand and picked her up in his other. She fell against his chest and Ryu could feel the wetness of her bloody shirt. She was very pale.

Ryu slammed the door and was back on the road. He knew only one place to go. Ken had a house near Albany New York. Ryu set his mouth in it's familiar grim frown and headed out of the city.
