New Story: Untitled chap. 1

Chun Li put the black vest over her skintights. She grimaced at the added bulk of the body armor, but it was regulation. Interpol was not about to let one of it's finest go out into the field without proper protection. She snapped it into place and adjusted the straps so that the vest fit her more comfortably.

She grabbed her night vision binoculars and adjusted the settings. The guards had been on duty for about two hours. She knew they would soon change as was their custom every two hours.

Chun Li signaled to her team of ten agents to be ready and they all responded with the "thumbs up". They were ready to go.

*Flashback*

"Chief, why was I pulled off my assignment?" Chun Li asked as she barged unannounced into his office.

"Ah, Miss Li, just the person I was hoping to see. The reason I've given you a new assignment is because of the magnitude of this new case."

"The arms and drug dealers?" she asked.

"Yes." he said as he opened a folder.

"But Chief, I think I can be better utilized on my old case. I mean simple arms dealers are a little out of my l..."

"Not anymore they're not." he interupted

He slid a packet over to her. She opened it and nodded.

"These are some of the ring leaders from the busts." she said.

"Indeed. You see there are so many of these warehouses popping up that for every one we raid five more pop up. We simply don't have the man power to deal with them all. I suspect that all these cases are linked and run out of a legitimate buisiness corporation."

"That really doesn't narrow it down chief. Their are many legitimate coporations running illegal operations worldwide." she said.

"Yes, and this is the problem. I've seen many hired men scared to tell us information about their overlord, but this is different. These ringleaders aren't even frightened. They refuse any legal help at their trials and plead guilty right off the bat. And then they go to prison without batting an eye."

"Many illegal operations are run by a crimelord serving time in prison." she retorted in annoyance.

"Again you are correct, but not at these numbers. All these different ringleaders are going to prison. And these ring leaders are professional criminals. They are smart and they all have very good lawyers, yet not a one of them pleaded their case."

"That is strange." she finally agreed.

"We need some information Li. You are one of my best agents and I need you on this case." he said as he closed his folder, handing it to her.

"I'll do my best Chief." she said as she took the folder.

"I know you will. Dismissed."

Chun Li had spent days reading reports on several differnt warehouse setups. She had found one near Tokyo that caught her attention. All these cases were similar except this one. Like the other operations this one was selling assault weapons and other assortedfirearms as well as an odd new drug that was still being tested by Interpol. This operation differed in one way. There was an illegal underground tournament being held here.

Chun Li had decided this was as good a place as any to start. These men they apprehended at each bust wouldn't talk, but maybe a fighter would. A struggling street fighter scraping to get by couldn't afford to be incarcerated.

Chun Li watched as the two guards made their way around the corner of the warehouse and then gave the order to go ahead. Her ten agents slid onto the roof of the warehouse by the zipcord that had been secured their earlier in the night as fighters were arriving. Chun Li leaned over the side of the building.

The slide had taken thirty-five seconds and the guards had completed their last round. They would head in for the guard change now. A ssoon as they knocked at the door Chun Li gave the signal and her agents droppped down halfway to the ground. They were still a good seven or eight feet above the guards, waiting. As soon as the doors were opened and the tired guards stepped in the agents dropped and released their tear gas.

Seven men in the outer corridor of the warehouse dropped in a coughing, hacking heap. Chun Li pointed a gun at them and motioned them outside into the rain where an agent held a gun on them. Chun Li swept the corridor and found a small camera beside a door that looked like it was off a bank vault. She whipped out a small spray can and coated the lense with it.

Chun Li took her mask off and gestured to the pipes hanging from the cieling. They were about fifteen feet up. She watched as her team got into position and then backed out of the corridor. She hit a button on the transmitter at her belt and it sent a signal to her secondary team still on the roof to be ready. Chun Li then clicked the safety off on her assault rifle and fired several shots at the door as well as at the lights.

"What the hell?!?" Balrog roared as he heard gunfire. He rushed to the moniter and cursed. It was black.

"Units one and two we have a situation in the front corridor. I don't give a damn who's in that hall, spray it."

Balrog cursed again and then turned to his third unit.

"You punks better keep those guns aimed at that damn pit over there. If any of those fighters try to leave ringside put a bullet in em'."

Balrog turned to the laptop and sent the information he had gathered back to headquarters before initiating the self destruct mechanism.

He had been told to expect this and he had his orders. He looked down at his taped fists and unclenched them waiting for what would come.

The door opened and gunfire swept the empty corridor. The two units walked into the corridor and lookeed to the open door. Then Chun Li's team dropped from the pipes and the raid started.

Chun Li gave the signal for the secondary team to act and then joined the primary team in the corridor.

The secondary team came in through the skylight. Glass and bullets rained down on Balrog's third unit as he watched. Four of the six man unit went down in seconds and the last two were either stabbed or knocked out. He wasn't sure and he didn't care. He laced up his gloves and smashed his fists together. He may have to go to jail, but he'd go his own way.

The secondary team had just finished with the third unit when Balrog attacked. He took two down with a wide punch and with an uppercutt that broke the jaw of a third. He dashed and landed a powerfull straight to another just before he was hit with a taser.

Chun Li's team was done in the corridor. One of her men had taken a bullet in the shoulder, but he wasn't out of commision. She waved foward and they swarmed into the main part of the warehouse. She followd a step behind and watched as a large black man was hit with a taser by two agents.

"Do a sweep and put cover on that ring!!" she yelled as she went to check on four downed agents.

Three were out cold and a fourth was injured, but regaining his feet slowly.

Turning to the ring where about thirty men were yelling and running she shouted, "Freeze all of you!! Get on the floor, NOW!!"

About half complied and the other half scrambled over crates to get to the loading doors at the far end of the warehouse. Chun Li shouted into her transmitter, "Backup team get into position!!"

Two fighters got one of the doors opened, but there was a large black van pulling up outside. It screeched to a halt and it's doors flung open to reveal agents with firearms trained at them.

Chun Li watched as the remaining fighters who had tried to flee hit the floor. She noticed however that the fighters in the ring were still fighting.

One was a large man near seven feet tall with greasy black hair falling in front of his face. He looked to be getting badly beaten, but wasn't done yet. His opponent was shorter around six feet tall. He wore a tattered white gi without sleeves and had a red headband tied behind his bangs.((I wont elaborate further, you people know who I'm talking about))As she watched the smaller fighter drove a side kick into his opponent's throat. The large man fell to his knees gagging and the fighter in white delivered an axe kick to his head, grounding him.

The man in white flipped some distance awayand took a stance with his weight over his rear foot. He pulled his hands close to his rear hip and Chun Li's eyes narrowed.

~What the hell?~

A light grew from the fighter and he started to grunt in exertion as it brightened. It spilled from his cupped hands and veins bulged in his arms as he coiled over his rear foot further.

~I know that technique!~

"STOP NOW...THAT'S AN ORDER!!"

The fighter took no notice however and thrust his hands before him and a ball of flame erupted from his outstretched hands and sped towards his opponent who was just gaining his feet. His eyes widened and he tried to raise his arms to protect his face. There was a slight scream of pain as the sphere of blue flame engulfed him, then no more.

Chun Li took off running at the fighter. Her gun leveled at him.

"GET ON THE FLOOR NOW!!"

The fighter's head whipped to the side and he knocked her firearm out of his face with a gloved backhand. Chun Li leaped backward and leveled her backup piece at him as he took a step back. He looked around in shock at all the guns trained on him.

asked the fighter in Japanese.
