Ryu dodged the punch aimed at his face and when the second strike flew at him he swung his fists together, crushing his attacker's fist, breaking his thumb. He yelped in pain and Ryu knocked him back with a side kick to his abdomen. Two others charged him simultaneously and Ryu jumped at them, delivering a dropkick. Each man was knocked down by one of Ryu's feet, but Ryu fell as well.

~That wasn't a good idea...~

Four men leaped at Ryu as he tried to kippup to his feet and they dogpiled him and started laying in with their fists.

"SHORYUKEN!!"

Ryu exploded from underneath their weight in a flash of ki energy. Ryu thought the tide was turning back in his favor until he crashed through the roof of the cage. Ryu spun in the air and landed on the chain-link on all fours. It held and Ryu tried to catch his breath he looked down and saw that three men were trying to widen a hole in the corner of the cage that Ryu had kicked through.

~Dammit... why the hell did those guards leave?~

"Li, get a unit and stabilize to the situation."

"I'm on it Chief!" she said as she sprinted down the hallway, ahead of the messenger.

Chun Li took the steps three at a time going down and as she hit the containment floor of headquarters she slammed her fist into the emergency alarm. She was about to pull out her gun when she saw Agent Morrison following behind her.

~Wait a minute...~

Chun Li slapped a hand to the gun barrel and it flew from his hands. One hand went to his shirt front and the other to his windpipe.

"What the hell are you doing out here?!? You're on duty. You're supposed to be containing any situation that occurs in the lockup. Why did you leave your post?"

He gagged in agony and she released him, shoving him backward against the steps.

"Talk."

"HACK...HACK...Orders...Agent Li...KOFF...KOFF..."

She took a menacing step foward with her fists clenched. She wasn't a large woman, but she could be quite menacing when she let her pent up rage manifest itself.

"From who?"

"HACK...the Chief...*wheez*"

Chun Li froze and her hands went limp.

~Why the hell would he give an order like that...~

"ON YOUR FEET!!" she snarled. "Let's go."

A platoon of agents wearing body armor met them as they approached the Lockup sector. None commented on the coughing Morrison or the bruise that was starting to show on his neck.

Ryu roared as he spun into a Hurricane Kick. He connected four times before launching his opponent into his charging comrades. Ryu narrowed his eyes as he saw two men advance on him. He hadn't seen them in the warehouse. They were dressed like street fighters, but there was something odd about them. They both wore leather vests studded with steel as well as ripped denim jeans. As they attacked him he figured it out.

~They're not Street Fighters. There were agents in that cage along with the rest of us!~

Ryu didn't have time to ponder his findings any further. The two zeroed in on him and initiated a coordinated attack that even he was hard pressed to defend against. Ryu blocked what he could and endured the attacks that slipped beneath his guard. When one went low for a sweep kick Ryu saw his opening and leaped over it. The other agent was caught unaware and ate Ryu's midair crescent kick.

The second agent looked after his downed partner and saw Ryu's skipping sidekick just before it plowed into him.

Ryu's High Leg Blade Kick was extremely powerful, especially when he put the force of his ki behind the attack. His opponent had manged to get his arms up, but it did him little good as he was knocked into the wall anyway. Ryu dashed foward and fired off a volley of punches, hitting the agent in the face, abdomen and the ribs. A final overhead smash knocked him unconcious and Ryu saw that he was near the door. Seven Street Fighters were still standing and they rushed him quickly.

Ryu focused himself. He knew some of them were involved with illegal dealings. He may not be happy with his current position, but he would do what he could to aid Interpol. He stepped in front of the door and felt a surge of energy rush through him.

"...shinkuu..."

He heard the door open behind him, but didn't let it distract him.

"...HADOKEN!!!!"

Chun Li's team crashed into the room just as a wave of light erupted from Ryu, crashing into several charging men, knocking them out cold. Several guns were leveled at Ryu, even though his back was turned and Chun Li was about to cuff him for the second time that day when she noticed agents Walker and Strife on the floor and slumped against the wall.

~Just what in the hell is going on here?~
