The Path of the True Warrior Ch. 4
By Ryu-san

Inside a secret base hidden deep within the mountains

Beep, blip, boop…

“Analyzation complete”… The screen flashes with various street fighters.

“Hm…Just as I suspected…RYUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!”

On an island much further away…

“HMPH! Gou-Hadoken! Heh, train well, young dragon, for soon, it will begin and you will submit! Satsui no hado…finally, a true challenge…” A mysterious demon mutters to himself.

South America…

“So, Sakura, what brings you to South America?” Dan asks.

Dan’s head is covered with multiple bandages from the hits that Sakura and Blanka gave him.

“Well, I was looking for ‘him’, as always, but I now that I graduated high school, I have a lot of free time so I decided to travel in search of warriors too!” Sakura replied.

“Heh. Not to worry, my number one disciple, with me as your sensei, there’s no doubt that you will get stronger! Saikyo style is the best! YAHOO!” Dan yells as tears fall from his eyes. =*D

*Um, yea…sure Dan…* Sakura slowly edges away from him and heads towards door. Blanka soon follows suit.

“Hey! Where are you guys going?” Dan asks.

“To go outside to train…” *Darn! I almost lost him!* Sakura thought to herself.

“Oh I see, you think I’m a pushover eh? Very well, let me show you what happens when you challenge your master!” Dan taunts.

Five minutes later, Dan is on the floor with multiple bruises.

“That’s pretty sad, eh Blanka?” She asks him.

“Uwo wowo ur…(Pitiful, he’s beaten up before he started the match…)” Blanka acquiesces.

“Er, sorry Blanka, I don’t speak Blankaism…But yea, that was pitiful, wasn’t it?” She asked.

“Uwo wowowow (Yea, I just said that)!!!!!” Blanka snarls.

“Ohhhh…What happened, did I win?” Dan asks as he rises painfully from the bed.

“Uh, we didn’t start yet, ‘sensei’” Sakura said sarcastically.

“Ok. I’m ready now, let’s go!” Dan tells her.

They are outside on a level terrain covered with trees filled with fruit (Blanka’s stage in Alpha Three for those of you who played that…). Dan and Sakura both do some warm ups and then bow to each other.

“Heh, Ikuzo. Osha!!”

Dan begins by taunting her and he steps into a defensive position. Sakura rushes at him with her shouoken (dragon punch). Dan side steps and trips her.

“Is that all you have? Now you see why I am the master and you the student!”

“Grrr…”

Sakura this time charges at him and uses her Shunpukyaku (mini-hurricane kick). This time, Dan absorbs the hits but ignoring the pain, he starts his Dankukyaku (the three kick move). Sakura, not expecting this, takes all three hits as she reels back from pain.

*When did he get so good?* She wonders. *Oh well. Time to finish this!*

“Midare Zakura!” Sakura yells as she intiates three Shouokens in a row. Dan blocks the first and then he uses the Saikyo Defense against her. He follows up with a kick leading into a “Hissho Buraiken!” Dan yells as combos her into submission.

“Ora ora ora ora ora! This will teach you to doubt your sensei!” Dan yells at her.

Sakura lands far away.

“Good sparring match, eh my pupil?” Dan asks her.

“Gr…When did you get so good?” She asked him as he helped her up.

“Well, first I…hey!” Dan yells in outrage.

“Go on, tell me your secret! You sucked before! Why are you so good now?” Sakura asked him.

“Well, this is what happened…I was fighting Sagat a year ago…” Dan begins.

“Dankukyaku!”

“Tiger Crush!”

“Koryu Reppa!”

Dan and Sagat exchange blows.

“Sagat! This is for my father!! Oyaji! Gadoken!” Dan screams.

“Hmph. I’m disappointed little boy. But now I have the pleasure of avenging myself after your father ripped out my eye!” Sagat roars.

“Tiger Genocide!”

As Sagat pummels Dan to submission, he finally grabs his head and raises him high in the air.

“Now you worm! Dieeee…Ugh!” Sagat yells.

“Hadoken! Dan are you ok?” A mysterious man asks.

“Ugh, I almost had him…” Dan passes out.

“Who are you?” Sagat asks.

“I am a wandering warrior in search of worthy opponents to fight.” Ryu answers.

”Then we fight!” Sagat answers as he throws Dan’s limp body away from the field.

Lightning lances the sky and rain begins to pour.

“I was passed out the whole time but I woke up at the very end…” Dan tells her.

“Rrrrraaaaaaagh!” Sagat yells as he kicks Ryu across the field.

“You troublesome gnat! Now you die!” Sagat screams as he charges and jumps towards Ryu.

Ryu lay motionless on the ground. At the very last moment, however, *SHORYUKEN!* He had gathered his chi into his fist and executed an uppercut that launched both him and Sagat twenty feet into the air. Sagat’s chest is ripped open and a deep, permanent scar appears, filled with blood.

“Ugh…Gr, grr…RRAAAGGGHHH!” Sagat yells as a tiger.

Sagat, landing very far away from Ryu, begins running towards him. His mindset is in a berserker mode and he prepares to kick him. Ryu gathers his chi into his hands and charges it. Then, the inexplicable happened. Lightning struck and it was about to hit a tree when it redirected itself into Ryu’s hands and then…

“Shinkuu Hadoken!”

Ryu released the sum of his chi in addition to the chi of the lightning and even Sagat could not stand the entire force of the blow. He lay unconscious.

“Ever since that day, I have been training hard to beat Sagat as well…For three months after the incident, I trained with Ryu and then we went our separate paths.” Dan concludes.

“Hm…oh yea! That reminds me! Guess what!” She asks Dan and Blanka.

“What?”

“I’m invited to the next street fighter tournament!” She yells excitedly.

“Oh, cool! You too!” As Dan shows his invitation as well as Blanka’s.

“Great, we can all go together! Ikuwaiyo!” Sakura yells as they run to catch the next plan to Japan.
