Out in the woods, a warrior with a gi trained. But this warrior was not Ryu. It was a warrior wearing a pink gi, and a ponytail.

This warrior was none other Dan Hibiki, the founder of the Saikyo-Ryu style, meaning "The world's stongest!"

Dan threw punches and kicks evrywhere. His target was a tree. With each blow, Dan felt inspired to strike again, with more force.

"Oshaa!!!"

The final blow left a dent in the tree. Dan's physical attacks were indeed strong, truly living up to it's name "the world's strongest!". But his special attacks were a different story...

Dan held back his right hand, charging up some energy, before finally throwing his hand forward...

"Gadouken!"

The fireball only went about 3 inches before it fizzed out.

"Da**mit! How does Ryu and Ken do it? Even that school girl Sakura can throw a better fireball than me! It's not fair! If only Gouken didn't kick me out, then things would be different..."

Three young men were training inside Gouken's dojo. All three were there for different reasons. Ryu was there simply because Gouken was his adopted father. Ken Masters was there to learn discipline. Dan Hibiki however, was there for revenge...

Gouken: Ryu and Ken, you two are doing an excellent job in perfecting the "Hadouken". Dan, you must continue to practice. Try to make it go farther than 3 inches! And use both hands!"

"But it's so much cooler with one hand!"

"If you wish."

That evening however, would change things forever. Ryu and Ken were asleep, while Dan was still practicing...

"As soon as I perfect the Shotokan style of karate, I'll find you Sagat! And then you will pay for what you did to my father! I will have my revenge! Oshaa!!"

Gouken just happened to overhear Dan's little speech...

"Dan! Is this why you train? No! That is not the way of Shotokan! Your heart is filled with anger! I cannot allow you to learn Shotokan karate any longer! You are hereby banished from this place!"

"Fine. You were too slow for me anyway."

Dan gathered his things and left the dojo. As Dan walked away, Gouken just thought of what could have happened...

"You probably will never understand this Dan, but I am doing this for your own safety. I already lost my brother Gouki to the dark path of Shotokan karate. I don't want you to follow that same path of destruction. I wish you well on your journeys, and hope that you find peace within your heart..."

Just then, Gouken had a visitor.

"Hello, brother..."

Dan looked at the tree. He started attacking it again. He wanted to be acknowledged as a great fighter and finally get the respect he deserved. Then women would go out with him.

"Shinkuu..."

Dan charged up so much energy in his hand that the forest became bright from the light emitted...

"Gadouken!!!"

Dan's gadouken hit the tree. A huge explosion was heard throughout the forest. Bright light was everywhere. Dan had to close his eyes because of the brightness...

"Train hard Ryu. Train hard Ken. One day, I shall become a better fighter. And then we shall see who is the "world's strongest!"
