Dan was on a plane heading to Thailand. He had to do some more training before he fought Sagat. Although Dan was starting to understand the concepts of ki a little bit better, he was far from mastering it like Ryu. Dan had managed to rise to a new level of power, but it drained him. He remembered when he threw a Gadouken for the first time. He was out cold for about an hour. One of Dan’s weaknesses was that he sometimes was a little bit too cocky of his skills. And until Dan fully understood that, he would continue to be mocked by other Street Fighters, and turned down for dates by girls.
“Man, I should have asked Jimmy and Sakura to come along with me…”
Blanka and Sakura were the closet people to Dan. They were the only ones who accepted Dan for who he was and didn’t make fun of him. Although Dan wanted to bring his two companions along, Dan knew that he had to make this journey alone. Dan had to learn a few things. By himself…
The plane finally arrived in Thailand. When Dan got off the plane, he immediately checked his stuff into a hotel, then went to the underground part of Thailand to find out some info. He happened to find someone who would give him the offer of a lifetime…
“Excuse me, I heard that there was an underground tournament around here. Where is it?”
The hooded figure that Dan was talking to just happened to have the knowledge that Dan needed. It would come at a price however…
“Yeah. There is an underground tournament around here. If you want in, you’ll have to beat me in a fight…”
“Okay…”
The hooded figure put up its guard. He was smiling.
“Why are you smiling?”
“I was bored standing guard around here. I needed something to pass the time by. And you just made my day…”
Then there was silence from both warriors. Without warning, the hooded figure threw a punch at Dan. Dan blocked it with the greatest of ease…
“Is that all you’re made of?”
The hooded figure threw another punch with the other hand, then threw a series of kicks. Dan easily dodged every attack…
“Now it’s my turn…”
The hooded figure threw another punch, but Dan blocked it. Dan then delivered a roundhouse kick that sent the hooded figure to the floor.
“Do you wanna give up now, or do you want to go for round 2?”
The hooded figure gave his answer with an attempt to sweep Dan. Dan jumped out of the way in time…
“I guess that means yes…”
The hooded figure picked up a lead pipe, and tried to swing it at Dan. Dan ducked it while charging some energy in his fist. He then released it into the lead pipe. It suddenly became hot…
“Ow!!!!!”
The hooded figure dropped the pipe and held his hand in pain.
“This has been fun, but I have things to do, so if you’ll just tell me how to enter the tournament, I’ll be on my way…”
The hooded figure had had enough of Dan’s remarks. He was not going to be humiliated like this…
The hooded figure ran towards Dan. Dan just stood his ground preparing for his next attack…
Dan suddenly leaped forward with a jump kick. The kick didn’t knock the hooded figure down. Of course, that wasn’t Dan’s intention…
While still in midair, Dan delivered a side kick with the other leg. Dan finally finished his attack with a third kick that sent the hooded figure to the floor. Dan had executed the Dankyuu-Kyaku!
“Looks like I win. Now tell me how I get into the tournament…”
The hooded figure got up and brushed the dust off of his clothes…
“Follow me…”
The hooded figure pressed a button on a remote control device. A door suddenly opened up that had once been hidden…
“This way…”
Dan and the hooded figure walked through the door. They eventually came to an arena that was filled with opponents and audience members cheering on their favorites…
The announcer made his way towards the ring.
“Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for waiting so patiently. Our next fight is about to begin. From USA, let’s welcome Joe! And also hailing from USA, he is second best to the legendary Ken Masters, let’s welcome Allen Snider!”
“You see those two opponents in the ring?”
“Yeah…”
“You fight the winner…”
Dan just stood outside the ring watching both opponents. He needed to know what he would be up against…
“Begin!”
The announcer gave his okay for the match to begin. Joe started throwing kicks, elbows, and knees towards Allen. Joe was a kickboxer, but his skills were nowhere as good as the students of Muay Thai. Even Joe Higashi would mop the floor with Joe. But Joe was willing to try anyway…
Joe kept trying to use his kickboxing skills, but was unsuccessful. Allen simply blocked every attack.
“I tire of this. It’s time to end this now…”
Joe jumped towards Allen with a knee attack, but Allen just blocked it before counterattacking…
“Justice Fist!”
Allen charged forward and knocked Joe into the bleachers with his special punch attack. No one had an attack like that…
“And the winner is… Allen Snider!”
The announcer held up Allen’s hand in victory as he and Allen exited the ring.
Dan was slightly impressed with Allen Snider. But there was something about him that was so familiar…
“ Looks like I’ve got my work cut out for me. But he doesn’t scare me. I’ve taken on Ryu and Ken and I’ve been able to walk away. I may not be the best street fighter yet, but I’m getting closer to that goal. I hope you’re ready Allen Snider. Because I’m about to give you a real fight…”
In case some of you are wondering, Joe is from SF1, and Allen Snider is from SFEX. Well that wraps up another chapter. What will happen in Chapter 5? You’ll just have to wait and see…
