Dan had gone to the locker room to change into his trademark pink gi. While he was changing, Dan finally realized how gloomy the arena was. The arena was filled with sweat and urine. Death was in the air. Dan could also feel something that he wasnt able to feel before. Dan was able to feel the aura of opponents. He guessed it came from his training in the woods. But that didnt intimidate him. Sure, they were strong. But he was stronger...

Just then, a figure appeared in the locker room where Dan was changing. Dan was surprised by who it was...

"Allen Snider..."

"So you've heard of me?"

"From Ken..."

"Ahh Ken. He was lucky the last time we fought... I won't make that mistake again!"

"So you came to check out your competition?"

"In a matter of speaking, yes. I just hoped that I would have a worthy opponent in the ring. My last opponent was weak. I want to get a good workout out of my next match. You dont look like much of a challenge though..."

"We'll see who has the moves in the ring..."

"Whatever, Hibiki..."

Allen Snider left the locker room while Dan put on his gloves.

"(That Snider guy sure has an ego... But I'll give him a challenge...)"

Dan had finished changing now. To pass the time, he decided to watch a couple of exhibition matches until the announcer called him to fight.

The matches that Dan had seen were pitiful. The opponents were weak. Dan finally understood why Ryu was not here. These warriors would have been a waste of his time. But Dan had something to prove. Not just to the world, but himself...

Finally it was Dan's turn. The announcer entered the ring to introduce the fighters...

"Our first opponent is Allen Snider!"

The crowd cheered as Allen Snider entered the ring. He was a fan favorite...

"And his opponent, is none other than, Dan Hibiki!"

The crowd immediately laughed after hearing Dan's name called. It seemed that Dan was a legend as well. A legend for being the worst Street Fighter ever known to man...

" (These people laugh now, but I'll show them... I'll get my respect... tonight...)"

"Ready! Begin!"

"Try not to fall down too soon, Hibiki..."

"Whatever you say, Snider..."

Dan had had enough of Allen's snide remarks. He was ready to show him and the world that Saikyo-Ryu was the worlds strongest...

Allen started things off with a jab. Dan easily blocked this attack and the second jab that Allen had sent coming. As Dan was blocking these attacks, he couldnt help but wonder where he had seen this style before. Something about it was so familiar...

"You didnt fall down right away. I'm impressed... But now it's time to show you my true power..."

Allen started throwing kicks now. Dan continued to block, wondering what was so familiar about this style. Allen meanwhile, had started to throw a combination of punches and kicks. Dan just continued to stay on the defensive however, not making an attack...

Allen's attacks were starting to hurt Dan's arms. He had to counter-attack or else Allen's attacks would break through his defense. As Allen went for another punch, Dan just grabbed Allen's arm and threw him over his shoulder.

Allen straightened himself in midair however. Allen landed on his feet, without a scratch...

"Not bad...But enough games... Its time to end this..."

Allen brought his hands to his waist and started to charge up energy. This motion was so familiar to Dan. Where had he seen it before?

Dan's thoughts were interrupted as Allen let loose his collected energy into Dans chest...

"Soul Force!"

Dan fell to the ground after being hit by this projectile. This was very familiar...

"( Wait a second! That was a fireball! That looked very similar to the ones that Ryu and Ken execute all the time...)"

"Had enough, Hibiki?"

"I'm just getting started..."

Dan flipped back on his feet and decided to go for an offense attack. He was starting to piece the puzzle together, but he needed more time to figure it out...

Dan threw a wild combination of punches and kicks. Allen simply blocked every one of them. Then Allen knocked Dan into the air with a very familiar uppercut...

"Rising Dragon!"

This attack looked very familiar as well...

"( The uppercut he used...It looks so much like the Dragon Punch... Just like the one that Ryu and Ken uses... His attacks... They also look like the attacks that I've seen Ryu and Ken use... I've figured it out! This guy is nothing more than a Shotokan clone! That gives me an idea!)"

Dan got back up. Instead of going for another attack, Dan did what he was best known for... He taunted Allen Snider...

"I figured it out! You're nothing but a Shotokan clone! Thats why Ken beat you so easily! You were just copying his style!"

"I am not a clone of Ken or Ryu! And I'll show you by beating the crap out of you!"

Allen Snider was really furious now... He hated it when people called him a Shotokan clone. He was better than that... He was going to show the world what set him apart from Ken Masters...

Finally realizing Allen's style, Dan taunted Allen some more. As Allen went for an attack, Dan just rolled underneath Allen and taunted Allen on the other side.

"Rashaa! Namen je nee zo! "

Allen was really getting mad now. This was just what Dan wanted. If Allen was too angry, his mind wouldn't be focused. Dan figured that out while thinking about his past battles. Dan didn't continue to lose because he sucked, he lost because he wasn't focused in his fights. He was angry all the time. That's probably why his nemesis Sagat would continue to lose to Shoto boy Ryu. No focus. But Dan had his focus this time. And he was going to use his focus to win this match...

Allen started to go crazy now. He started throwing fireballs everywhere...

"Soul Force!"

Allen threw another fireball. But Dan wasnt worried because he knew what the motion was for performing one. It was the exact same motion as the Hadou-ken. That was Allens weakness... He was too predictable...

Dan continued to dodge and roll underneath Allens attacks...

"Rarararararara!"

"Are you mocking me, Hibiki?"

"Yahooey!! Come on, Snider! Attack me! Unless youre scared!"

As Dan got close to Allen, Allen let out his trademark move...

"Justice Fist!"

Dan's chest was filled with so much pain as his body was sent back by this punch.

"( Uhh... I forgot about that attack... that one is original But it still won't be enough to defeat me...)"

"Still think I'm nothing more than a Shoto clone Hibiki?"

"Yes..."

Dan slowly pulled himself to his feet. Allen Snider may have been a Shoto clone, but he was still a force to be reckoned with. This would not be easy...

Although Dan recognized Allen's style, he still needed to pull off more attacks or else he would lose...

Dan ran towards Allen before finally letting loose a flying kick. Allen wasn't taken down by this kick, but Dan wasnt finished yet...

"Da! Da! Hiya!"

Dan let out a mighty Dankuu Kyaku that sent Allen to the floor. Allen didnt seem to be getting up...

"At last, I've won..."

Allen slowly got up to his feet and was able to stand...

"Crap!"

"That was a lucky shot. You won't get another one..."

Both Dan and Allen were breathing heavily now This fight had taken a lot out of both of them. Both warriors were impressive...But there could only be one winner...

Dan and Allen ran towards each other and traded blows. Some blows were blocked, and some blows connected. Neither man seemed to be throwing in the towel however. This fight was quickly turning into a stalemate...

Allen started to glow a purple aura as he and Dan continued to trade blows.

"(What's Snider up too?)"

Dan never saw it coming. Allen knocked Dan out of the air with a hi jump kick...

"Triple Break!"

Allen used one of his original supers, the Triple Break. This attack kicked Dan three times high in the air before Dan would hit ground again.

As Dan was starting to fall, Allen had a smirk on his face...

"( Hibiki really thought he could beat me. Now I'll show him what I'm made of...)"

As Dan was about to hit the floor, Allen let out another Justice Fist...

Dan was only able to get up to his knees. His body was too sore to be able to stand. He was almost out of energy... He had enough energy left for one more attack... If he connected, victory would be his. But if he missed, then he would lose for sure. Failure was not an option. Dan started to charge up energy...

Allen saw Dan start to glow a pink aura. He figured it was a trap...

"(I'm not going to give Hibiki a chance to attack. If I hit him with one more Justice Fist, he'll be down for sure...)"

Allen charged up what little energy he had left into this final punch. This punch would mean victory. Allen then let this punch loose, and headed towards his target, Dan Hibiki...

Dan saw Allen Snider coming...But he was ready. He was going to unleash an attack that not too many people saw... Allen was truly lucky...

As Allen's punch was about to connect, Dan suddenly leaped forward. He shifted his body in the air and avoided Allen's punch. Dan grabbed Allen tight. It was time...

Dan's body started to glow an even brighter pink...

"Yatta ze! Oyahjjii!!!"

There was suddenly a gigantic explosion in the ring. The audience shielded their eyes from the explosion. The audience then opened their eyes as the dust started to settle...

Dan had his hands and feet on the floor. He was breathing heavily. But Allen Snider was down. Out for the count. He fell victim to Dan's ultimate attack: The Otoko Michi.

The announcer couldn't believe what he saw. Dan Hibiki was left standing. Maybe the rumors about Dan's fighting skills were false. He didnt see a joke of martial arts. He saw a very powerful warrior. Realizing that he still had a job to do, he got into the ring...

"And the winner is Dan Hibiki!"

The crowd was applauding for Dan. They too had seen a magnificent fight. But what made it magnificent was the fact that it came from Dan Hibiki.

Dan managed to get a smile upon his face..."

( I did it... I beat Allen Snider... But I'm still not ready... I must train more to beat him... The one who took away my father...)"

The announcer helped Dan to his feet as he raised Dan's hand in victory. Dan just enjoyed the applause that he was receiving. He had earned it...

The battle was won. But the war was far from over... In fact, it was just beginning...
